Hořejšova Villa in Černošice is rightfully one of the fifty protected functionalist villas from the era. After ninety years since its construction, the building required repairs to accommodate modern living needs while preserving the spirit of the structure. Therefore, it was more of a technical restoration of the interiors than a full-scale reconstruction. The external parts of the building were in good physical condition, so it was decided to leave them in their absolute authenticity. The interior spaces of the villa surprised us with their vibrant polychromy of surfaces, textures, and materials. This contradicted all conventional guidelines. After restoring the surfaces, repairing technical systems and elements, we completed the interiors with color continuity, where it was necessary to take an authorship approach.
