In 2017, following our previously proposed concept for the complex, the Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region approached us with the task of finding a suitable location and creating a gathering space for 200 people within the existing buildings. The original idea of the client was to use part of the expansive baroque attic of the college. However, after careful consideration, we proposed transforming the existing building of the riding hall, which previously housed unused garages, into the desired space.
Utilizing the existing hall space in a standalone building was a sensitive choice, taking into account the limited financial resources of the investor. It was enough to insert two functional blocks into the open space in the concept of a "house within a house," meeting the fire, acoustic, scenic, exhibition, and technical requirements for the interior environment. Instead of the original garage doors, a generous panoramic window was installed in the facade of the building. The interior of the hall, with its view of the Cathedral of St. Barbara, elevates the space to a higher social level.
